Manage Jira native 'Labels'

Global Administration

As Jira Administrator:

  1. ‘Settings’

  2. Select ‘Apps’

  3. Select ‘Label Manager - Global Settings' in the left navigation under 'APPS’

  4. Select the preselected field ‘Labels’

  5. In this view you can: (Changes affect issues with the label selected globally)

    1. See how many total labels exist in your instance

    2. Search for specific labels

    3. Check how many issues one label is assinged to globally

    4. Link to the issue navigator with the label prefiltered

    5. Edit the label

    6. Merge the label into another label

    7. Delete the label

Filter Global Label Item

Use the free text search field to filter the displayed label items.

Fuzzy search is enabled to assist you in finding related labels.

Example: ‘label’ finds ‘lable’, ‘Lale’

The search is case insensitive and will return labels even if you only search for parts of the label.

Example

Search text: ‘sydney’ will find label ‘Sydney-Team

Notes

Maximal 1000 labels are displayed at once, use the filter function to display specific labels outside that scope.

Project Level Administration

  1. Open the project of your choice

  2. (As Project Administrator) Open Project Settings

  3. Open the dropdown ‘Apps’

  4. Click ‘Label Manager - Project Settings’

  5. Select the preselected field ‘Labels’

  6. In this view only label used in the project are displayed. All changes will only affect issues inside this project. You can:

    1. See how many labels are used in the project

    2. Search for specific labels used in the project

    3. Check how many issues one label is assinged to inside the project

    4. Link to the issue navigator with the label and project prefiltered

    5. Edit the label

    6. Merge the label into another label

    7. Delete the label
